Day 18

Today was a travel day. I had to say bye to Jordon and Gordon which kind stinks because I really enjoyed their company here. Flying by plane is a very long process here. The way you get your ticket is much nicer than America but they have many more delays. I had a 1 hour and 20 minute flight but I was delayed one hour before we boarded an hour after we boarded. When we landed we where let out on to the ground to cram into a shuttle to go to the baggage claim. I waited by the baggage claim for over an hour. After that, it was a line for a taxi and a 45-minute ride back to the college. Therefore, it basically took all day for a very short flight. This is why the high-speed rail system is going to be such a hit here. They don’t have the delays that the planes do. Gordon’s and Jordon’s were delayed for 5 hours so they had to try schedule another plane. I am not sure how they actually got it worked out. Tonight I walked around some more of the campus with Geoff and Belinda. I saw one of the only metabolic cambers for cattle in the world. I also saw their small dairy. Research here is performed way differently than in the states. After that, I played basketball with a group of students. That was quite a bit of fun! Very different than playing in the states, as travels and some other rules were not really observed however, it was still very enjoyable.
