Day Eleven

Today was another long day. I spent the morning site seeing some more in Shanghai with PIC. She took me to another old part of the city. There I took a boat ride with the person in the rear using a single oar to propel us. It was quite an experience. For dinner, I tried a different type of duck along with some more traditional dishes. In the afternoon, I got a taste of home as Jordon and Gordon Spronk arrived. We flew out to Xian. Then we drove an hour west to Yangling, which is about 3 hours from the desert, which is essentially wasteland. I will spend the week there on Ms Gou’s (spelling) swine farm and site seeing in Xian. I am super excited to have some familiar faces here with me for a while. It is a refreshing feeling to not have to spend all of my time with new people. It was hot again today, over 100 F. If not for the food change, the heat will make me lose some weight.
