Today was quite exciting as always; I traveled about 3 hours west of Yangling through the mountains. I have never been on such a winding road even more so than traveling through the Rookie Mountains. The landscape was beautiful out there! Here I spent the day on a new sow farm! It was very exciting to see some live pigs again! I can tell that I am called to be in agriculture as I just get this feeling when I deal with livestock. It was similar to the sow barns we have in the states however; we are still more automated as labor here is much cheaper than the states. I was once again impressed with the people that I have been able to meet and gain contacts with. One never knows how this might influence the future. Another thing that continues to blow my mind is the amount of building and construction that is going on. For nearly the entire 3-hour drive, I saw constant building. They are building a high-speed train rail to Yangling, and what seems like thousands of buildings everywhere. I had some more first in the food category again today; I had a section of a pig’s leg or foot, and a small fish, which you ate whole. The fish was actually quite good. The pig leg on the other hand took more effort to eat than what it was worth especially with chopsticks, even though my skills have improved greatly.
